Day 320: In Between

Posted by annagrace under Days 301-365

I recorded this and couple of other songs about a week ago, but kept forgetting to post them! At any rate, this song is In Between by Linkin Park. I really like this song because it’s much softer and calmer than the majority of LP songs, but still stays true to who they are.

I searched a bit for some chords and couldn’t really find any that worked for ukulele, so I adapted some I found to be easier. Just recorded this in one take.

In Between

I think it turned out pretty good! I was thinking about going to Market Square sometime and playing my uke and singing, and I think this one would be a good one to add to the mix! :)

A couple more posts coming up tonight, so keep your eye out for them!

Day 234(16 days late): Numb (2004)

Posted by annagrace under Days 201-300

In 2004, Linkin Park, who I’ve already mentioned as one of my favorite bands in high school, had several top 100 hits. I decided upon Numb because it was one of the highest up! I recorded 2 parts, just because I thought it was necessary, although I’m the worst rapper of all time!

Numb (2004)

I think I’ll be doing more LP songs in the future!

Day 171(2 days late): Shadow Of The Day

Posted by annagrace under Days 101-200

Today’s post is one of my favorite Linkin Park songs, Shadow Of The Day! Many people may make fun of me for the fact that I like Linkin Park so much, but honestly you need some good screaming music sometimes! This song is actually probably the calmest song they’ve ever done, and I like that too! I love that they can do the hard-core screaming songs and then do something as soft a delicate as this song! I don’t have their newest album yet, but I think Minutes to Midnight is my favorite album so far!

Anyways, in this recording I recorded me plucking the ukulele chords first, then the melody, and finally a harmony part. The harmony is pretty high, so I cracked a bit, but I tried it down an octave and it just wasn’t the same. So deal with it! haha just kidding :)

Shadow Of The Day

I’m pretty happy with this recording! I might venture out to a bit harder LP songs (maybe Crawling with recorder???? :D ), but we’ll see! Boo on LP haters!
